Climate Change and Energy Transition

"Higher temperatures diminish crop yields, ,melts the mountains glaciers that feed rivers, generate more destructive storms.."(p.59)

This is so true with the temperature rising it will be to hot to produce most crop therefore it will diminish the harvest and effect how much food people will be able to sell. This can cause great stress and rise prices on food. Also mountain glaciers that feed rivers will be affected to this many change the temperature and acidity of the water for the wildlife living in the river which will kill the wildlife that is very sensitive to change in their habitat. This will create more destructive storms as well as hurt more crops.

"Reducing oil use is not at all farfetched"(p.71)

Using less oil will help with less carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and potation which today affects the ozone layer. If we try using more effective fossil fuels we would not be harming the environment and creating higher temperatures that will lead to the downfall of our civilization. For now we should walk, bike, or any other alternate means of transportation. There are so many ways we can create a better atmosphere for the environment and for humankind but people are just to lazy to do it.

"We've run out of good projects."(p.72)

I do not think we are running out of good projects I think people are just not believing that we need to change our ways to preserve out way of life in the Earth. If this became for of an international issue to most governments then there will be more ideas and more actions in help preventing from the world falling apart. We just need better ideas that always relying on oil and a main source of a fossil fuel.

"replacing oil is more complicated because it is so preserve in the economy."(p.75)

I agree and both disagree. I agree it can be complicated because oil is a main source in our everyday live at least more than people realize. I do think however if we worked hard enough that we can be independent from just using oil. For example, people have been creating electric cars instead of one run on pure oil. Which I think is a good stead in the right direction. Also people have been using old cooking oil as well which has shown great promises. I do think we can replace oil we just need to make sure the experiment results are sound before change completely.
